Meet the Owner

I am a mother, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and doctor. I was born to Haitian migrant parents in Richmond,VA and raised in south Florida. Although I was born in the US, I have always considered myself Haitian, because my life was always wrapped in my culture. Kreyol was my first language and I was taught about my culture, our African roots and danced up until I was 18 years old. My culture mattered, because I wouldn't be me without it. My mannerisms, diet, and philosophy on life, all started with my cultural up bringing. I am very thankful and appreciative for the experience and knowing my heritage. 

When I became a doctor, I sought out a new way of thinking about healthcare. Through that journey, I realized that I didn't need a new way. I needed the traditional, culturally driven, uncomplicated, healthy and spiritual way.  Like many other women around the world, I didn't need to go outside of myself or my traditions to get better healthcare. The things that always worked, were simple, easy and convenient. Culture matters even more, when people are trying to live a more fulfilling and optimal lifestyle.  My cultural experiences lead me to create Janou. I represent the women that I want to help. I am a Janou women!

The Janou women is cultured, grounded, curious, smart, open minded, aware, spiritual and conscious. Janou is the brand of the future. The brand of culture and wellness.

Black women are underrepresented and treated unfairly in the modern health system and have a higher mortality rate after childbirth than their counterparts. It's time to make a change and take care of ourselves. Janou will help women and mothers to advocate and take care of themselves using the traditional, non-invasive preventative regimens and products backed by generational rand inherited ways of living.
